Stone Age Long Barrows

Narrative created the branding the newly launched business, Sacred Stones, who build neolithic long barrows, using traditional stonemason techniques.  The branding had to modern while reflecting the respectful nature and heritage of their service.

The curve in the logo design is taken from the shape of the barrows they build, while the brand colours were taken from the natural hues of the stones used in construction. This helps give the brand and architectural and earthy feel, in line with their brand narrative.

Branding Sacred Stones

Sacred Stones was formed in 2014 with a very unusual & spiritual idea: to build stone age long barrows using ancient skills of stonemasonry.

Long barrows are ancient burial mounds that were the widespread stone constructions across Western Europe during the 4th and 5th millennia BCE. Crafted from local stone, requiring skill and a lot of hard work, only the most important people from the neolithic period would be worthy of a place in them. Sacred Stones are more democratic in their intentions, building their long barrows to be used as columbaria – a unique space to keep the ashes of your loved ones. Long barrows are stunning, atmospheric places with a deep sense of being grounded in history and humankind’s place in nature.
